Alexandra from Chile

 

 

From an email sent recently by Alexandra's parents Rene and Angelica. (September 2000)

Alexandra asiste a un colegio de niños normales y su comportamiento y desarrollo a sido bastante bueno (very good). Ella tiene hoy 5 años y 4 meses de edad y asiste a un curso llamado pre-kinder ( 4 A 5 AÑOS DE EDAD )

Approximate translation:

Alexandra attends a normal school and her behavior and development are very good. Ella is now 5 years and 4 months of age and attends a  course  called pre-kinder (for children 4 to 5 years of age).

   

Here  are three photographs of Alexandra. Her parents do not speak English and I don't speak Spanish but I have labelled the photos as well as I could. She is very beautiful!

Queridos amigos de CRI DU CHAT SUPPORT GROUP Gracias por mantenernos informados de vuestras actividades familiares y temas relacionados con este síndrome, muy interesantes para nosotros aquí en Arica-Chile, Alexandra ya tiene 11 años y esta en quinto básico en un colegio de enseñanza normal , ella esta con un programa de educación individual (en el mismo colegio) dirigido por un psicopedagogo y una fonoaudiologa ,además de las asignaturas regulares de su nivel, su avance académico es lento pero ella es feliz en su curso ya que su integración social es bastante buena entre sus compañeros de curso. Aquí les mandamos algunas fotos actualizadas de Alexandra.

Thank you for keeping us informed about your activities and information related to this syndrome. Alexandra is now 11 years old and is in the fifth grade in a normal school with an individualised program. Her academic progress is slow but she is happy with her course since the social integration with other students is quite good.

Here are some recent photos of Alexandra.
