International Cri du Chat Awareness Week 2012

Hi everyone,
The 5P- Society have invited families and organisations associated with Cri du Chat Syndrome from all over the world to take part in an international Cri du Chat Awareness Week in the third week of May each year. They chose May as it it the fifth month and CdC is a disorder of the fifth chromosome. The week this year will be the first ever of the initiative, but they plan to make it an annual event.
In our local area, we are organising a Family Day on the Gold Coast and everyone is most welcome! Our family also hopes to do a media story with another Gold Oast family affected by this syndrome in order to raise more awareness and promote the week.
I would also love to see a YouTube clip of a collection of photos of our kids and some brief info that we could share with all of our email contacts and via Facebook. I would love some photos emailed to me at hannah@criduchat.asn.au if you would be happy to be included. I also plan to change my Facebook profile to the International log in that week and ask my friends to do the same.
I thought perhaps some of you might have ideas of how you could spread the word about CDC in your local communities. I feel that raising awareness will promote better understanding, assist us in attaining more equitable government funding, and perhaps even encourage further research.
Please share any ideas or plans you have to recognise this week.
